Apple is all set for its first major product launch of 2025, scheduled for Wednesday, February 19. CEO Tim Cook confirmed the date in a post on X (formerly Twitter), teasing the event with the message, “Get ready to meet the newest member of the family,” accompanied by an animated Apple logo. While Apple has not officially revealed what’s coming, speculations suggest that the much-anticipated iPhone SE 4 will take center stage, alongside updates to the MacBook Air, iPad, and possibly the Vision Pro headset.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be the biggest highlight of the event. Apple’s budget-friendly SE lineup has not been updated since March 2022, and this time, it is likely to receive a major redesign. Leaks suggest a modern look, featuring a flat-frame design and a glossy glass back similar to the iPhone 14. The traditional Home Button is expected to be replaced by Face ID housed within a notch, giving it a more premium feel. Another major change could be the addition of a USB-C port, replacing the Lightning connector. Under the hood, the iPhone SE 4 is rumored to feature an A18 or A17 Pro chip, 8GB RAM, and 128GB base storage, making it a powerful mid-range device. With such hardware, it is also expected to support Apple Intelligence, bringing AI-driven features to the device.

Apart from the iPhone SE 4, Apple is also expected to introduce a new MacBook Air powered by the M4 chip. The updated model is likely to come with 16GB RAM as standard, enhancing multitasking and overall performance. While no major design changes are anticipated, the M4 chip is expected to significantly boost speed and efficiency. The iPad lineup is also rumored to receive updates, with the iPad Air possibly getting upgraded to the M3 chip, while the entry-level iPad may feature an A16 or A17 Pro chip. However, no significant design changes are expected for the iPads. The teaser logo for the event has sparked speculation that Apple might launch a new AirTag. However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has dismissed these rumors, stating that a second-generation AirTag is unlikely to be part of this event. According to reports, AirTag 2 is still in development and is expected to launch in mid-2025. It is rumored to feature a more secure speaker, a longer-range Ultra Wideband chip, and improved integration with the Apple Vision Pro headset.

Speaking of Vision Pro, there is speculation that Apple might introduce PlayStation VR2 controller support, enhancing the gaming experience on the device. This would address a major gap, as the Vision Pro currently lacks dedicated handheld controls. Another interesting possibility is the preview of an Apple smart home hub, described as a HomePod with a screen. This device could feature a 6-inch or 7-inch display, be powered by the A18 chip, and support Apple Intelligence. If launched, it could serve as a central hub for controlling smart home devices, making FaceTime calls, and managing everyday tasks. However, this device is not expected to hit the market until late 2025.

With so many exciting possibilities, Apple’s February 19 event is shaping up to be a must-watch. Whether it is the iPhone SE 4, the new MacBook Air, or updates to the Vision Pro, Apple fans have a lot to look forward to.
