Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have found themselves at the center of separation rumors after 37 years of marriage. According to Zoom TV, the couple has been living separately for some time, though neither has officially confirmed or denied the divorce speculation.
What Led to the Rumored Split?
Reports suggest that the couple’s “contrasting lifestyle choices” have been a major factor in their alleged rift. Another report by Bollywood Now claims that Govinda’s rumored involvement with a Marathi actress may have contributed to their separation.
In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Sunita Ahuja shared insights into their living arrangements, revealing that Govinda often stays at his bungalow while she and their children reside in their apartment.
“We have two houses. We have a bungalow opposite our apartment. I have my temple and my kids in the flat. We live in the flat, whereas he gets late after his meetings. He loves talking, so he’ll gather 10 people and sit chatting with them,” she explained.
Did Sunita Send a Separation Notice?
Adding to the speculation, ETimes quoted a source stating that Sunita had reportedly sent a separation notice a few months ago. However, there have been no further legal proceedings since then.
Meanwhile, Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, dismissed the rumors, stating:
“There have been issues between the couple due to certain statements made by some family members. There is nothing more to it. Govinda is in the process of starting a new film, which is why artists have been visiting his office. We are trying to resolve it.”
Sunita Ahuja on Her Marriage with Govinda
During her Hindi Rush interview, Sunita spoke candidly about their relationship, jokingly saying:
“I have told him that in my next life, he should not be my husband. He doesn’t go on holidays. I want to go out with my husband and eat pani-puri on the streets. He spent too much time working. I don’t recall a single instance when we both went out to watch a movie.”
