Rockstar Games has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto VI will now be released on May 26, 2026, delaying the much-anticipated game once again. Originally expected to arrive in Fall 2025, the developers explained that the delay is necessary to ensure the game meets the high-quality standards fans expect. In a statement, Rockstar expressed gratitude for the overwhelming interest and support from players and emphasized that the team is working hard to deliver a truly exceptional experience.

With the announcement came new details about the game’s characters and storyline. One of the key introductions is Jason Duval, a complex character with a troubled past. Jason grew up surrounded by criminals and grifters. After a stint in the army in an attempt to leave that life behind, he ended up working for local drug runners in the Florida Keys. His life takes a turn when he meets Lucia—another central character—setting the stage for a relationship that could either be his redemption or his downfall.

Meanwhile, a bizarre rumor recently caught the attention of the gaming community, claiming that GTA VI might feature cosmetic skins from Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). This theory quickly went viral, sparking speculation about potential collaborations between the two games. However, a well-known skin trading platform has debunked the claim, confirming that no CS2 skins will be part of GTA VI. There is no feature planned that would allow players to import or use CS2 cosmetics in Rockstar’s upcoming title.

Despite the disappointment around the delay, fans now have even more reasons to be excited about the game. With deeper character development and Rockstar’s commitment to quality, GTA VI promises to be one of the most immersive titles in the franchise’s history. While we’ll have to wait until 2026, the game is shaping up to be well worth the anticipation.
