Dubai, UAE – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for successfully hosting the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 and to the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) for organizing five matches in Dubai.

India Won their third Champions Trophy title after securing a four-wicket victory against New Zealand in a thrilling final at the Dubai International Stadium on March 9.

Pakistan Hosts First Global Tournament Since 1996

The Champions Trophy 2025, held from February 19 to March 9, marked a historic moment for Pakistan, as it was the nation’s first major global cricket event since 1996. The tournament was staged across four venues: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi in Pakistan, along with Dubai in the UAE.

ICC Commends PCB and Organizers for Their Efforts

ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice praised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for successfully organizing the tournament, emphasizing its significance for the country.

“We would like to thank and congratulate the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for successfully hosting the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. Since this was the first global multi-team event in the country in almost three decades, it was a momentous occasion. Everyone involved in stadium renovations, pitch preparations, match organization, and hospitality should be immensely proud of their contributions,” Allardice stated in an ICC release.

Additionally, he acknowledged the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) for its role in hosting five matches in Dubai, underscoring their continued support for major ICC men’s and women’s events.

A Tournament That United Cricket Fans Globally

Allardice also highlighted the tournament’s massive global viewership, as cricket enthusiasts worldwide followed the matches both at stadiums and through digital and satellite platforms.

“This event once again reinforced the significance of ICC tournaments, as fans worldwide engaged with great enthusiasm. The competitive spirit and thrilling performances made it an unforgettable event,” he noted.

He further congratulated the eight participating teams for making the tournament a success and extended special recognition to Team India for their spectacular triumph.

“Congratulations to India on winning their third Champions Trophy title in what was a truly memorable final,” he added.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 not only showcased exceptional cricketing action but also marked a milestone for Pakistan cricket, proving the nation’s capability to host international tournaments on a grand scale.
