The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially confirmed that the IPL 2025 final will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3, 2025, at 7:30 PM IST. The venue will also host Qualifier 2, while Mullanpur Stadium in Punjab will stage Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator.

Why the Venue Change?

Initially, Kolkata’s Eden Gardens and Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium were selected to host the IPL 2025 playoffs. However, due to unpredictable weather conditions in Kolkata and logistical issues, the BCCI has reshuffled the playoff venues to ensure an uninterrupted cricketing spectacle.

This marks the third IPL final hosted at Ahmedabad’s iconic stadium in four years — following 2022 and 2023, where CSK won the title in a rain-affected epic against GT.

Revised IPL 2025 Playoff Schedule

Weather Already A Factor in IPL 2025

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced heartbreak after their crucial clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 17 was washed out, eliminating them from the tournament. The BCCI’s decision to shift playoff venues aims to avoid similar rain-induced disruptions during the high-stakes matches.

Narendra Modi Stadium: A Familiar Grand Finale Host

  • 2022 Final: Hosted at Ahmedabad
  • 2023 Final: Rain-hit but concluded dramatically
  • 2025 Final: Set for another blockbuster showdown

With a capacity of over 1.3 lakh spectators and world-class infrastructure, the Narendra Modi Stadium has become the go-to venue for Indian cricket’s biggest matches.

🏏 Quick Look at the Teams in the Race

As the tournament inches closer to the final showdown, fans of CSK, MI, RCB, KKR, SRH, LSG, DC, GT, PBKS, and RR can expect thrilling playoff action. With only 6 cities hosting this year’s league due to scheduling constraints, the focus now shifts to the top four teams eyeing the coveted IPL trophy.
