Kunal Kamra Rejects Bigg Boss Offer

Comedian Kunal Kamra takes a sharp dig at Bigg Boss invite, says he values his sanity more than screen time

Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra is back in the headlines — not for a roast, but for rejecting a major reality TV opportunity. Kamra recently revealed that he was approached for the upcoming season of Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss, but he turned it down in a style that only he could pull off.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Kamra shared a screenshot of a message from a casting director, who reached out to him for the reality TV show. The message read:

Kunal Kamra Rejects Bigg Boss Offer

“I am handling the casting for this season of Bigg Boss and your name came up as someone they might find interesting. I know it might not have been on your radar, but honestly, it’s such a mad platform to show your real vibe and win over a massive audience. What do you think? Should we talk about it?”

Kamra’s blunt and unapologetic reply?

“I would much rather check into a mental hospital…”

While the message didn’t mention whether the offer was for Bigg Boss OTT or the upcoming Bigg Boss Season 19, the comic made it clear that neither was on his radar.

Kunal Kamra Legal Battle

This comes amid a controversy surrounding Kamra’s parody video targeting Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The comedian is currently facing legal heat, having skipped three summons issued by the Mumbai Police.

Recently, the Madras High Court granted him interim protection from arrest, while Kamra has moved the Bombay High Court seeking to quash the FIRs filed against him.

In his petition, Kamra has argued that the legal action against him violates his fundamental rights—specifically, freedom of expression under Article 19 and the right to life and personal liberty under Article 21 of the Constitution.

Kamra vs Bigg Boss: Not a New Stand

Kunal Kamra has long been a critic of mainstream media and reality television. His response reflects his consistent stance on avoiding platforms that he perceives as driven by manufactured drama or manipulated narratives.
