The film features an ensemble cast, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, Swanand Kirkire, Rajendra Gupta, and Medha Shankr in pivotal roles. Rajkummar Rao portrays a violent gangster named Maalik, a role that demanded intense emotional and physical preparation.
Speaking to NDTV, Rajkummar said, “Stepping out of such an intense role is easier than getting into it. There’s a process — growing a beard, getting into fights, and understanding the core of the character. I’ve never played someone this ferocious and powerful before.”
Maalik is produced by Kumar Taurani and Jay Shewakramani under Tips Films and Northern Lights Films. With strong performances and growing momentum, the film is expected to perform well in its opening weekend.
