In a social media post, RR shared a picture of Dravid with a cast on his left leg, reassuring fans that he will be back soon. “Head Coach Rahul Dravid, who picked up an injury while playing cricket in Bangalore, is recovering well and will join us today in Jaipur,” the franchise stated.

RR Captain Sanju Samson Praises 13-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson lauded Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the youngest signing in IPL history, for his impressive power-hitting skills.
At just 13 years old, Suryavanshi made headlines after being picked by RR for ₹1.1 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. Born on March 27, 2011, in Bihar, he made his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024, at just 12 years and 284 days old.
He also played for India U19 against Australia in Chennai, where he smashed a 58-ball century. Additionally, he was the seventh-highest run-getter in the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup 2024-25, scoring 176 runs in five matches, with a top score of 76 not out*.
Sanju Samson on Vaibhav Suryavanshi Confidence
Speaking to JioHotstar as part of the ‘SuperStar’ programme, Samson emphasized how modern young players understand the aggressive brand of cricket India plays.
“Rather than giving advice, I prefer observing first—how a youngster wants to play, what he likes, and what kind of support he needs from me. Vaibhav looks very confident; he was hitting sixes out of the ground at the academy. People were already talking about his power-hitting. What else can you ask for? It’s all about understanding his strengths, backing him, and being there for him like an elder brother,” Samson said.
With IPL 2025 set to begin soon, Rajasthan Royals look forward to Dravid return and Suryavanshi explosive potential on the field.
