Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan created history by becoming the first Indian male actor to walk the blue carpet at the prestigious Met Gala 2025. Dressed in a regal floor-length coat made of Tasmanian superfine wool, the ensemble was crafted by celebrated Indian designer Sabyasachi. The look was elevated with monogrammed Japanese horn buttons, an 18k gold Bengal Tiger Head Cane encrusted with tourmalines, sapphires, and diamonds, and a signature ‘K’ necklace—marking one of the event’s standout moments.
Dairy giant Amul India quickly seized the moment to pay tribute to SRK’s milestone appearance. Their latest topical campaign, titled “India’s Biggest Galakaar”, featured an animated Shah Rukh Khan in his Met Gala avatar, complete with the iconic cane in one hand and a slice of buttered toast in the other. Sharing the tribute on social media, Amul captioned it, “#Amul Topical: Shahrukh Khan attends the world’s most prestigious and glamorous fashion event!”
Shah Rukh also took to social media to express gratitude to Sabyasachi and his team for making him feel at home at the globally-celebrated fashion event. He posted both monochrome and color shots of his Met Gala outfit and wrote, “Thx @sabyasachiofficial & ur whole team for introducing me to the Met Gala. It’s not my ‘space’ but u made me feel so comfortable…becos u, like me, believe…Style & Fashion…is just being who you are. And all of u made me feel like a ‘K’!”
Shah Rukh wasn’t the only Indian making headlines at the Met Gala 2025. This year also saw the debut of singer Diljit Dosanjh and actress Kiara Advani at the fashion spectacle. Other prominent Indian attendees included Priyanka Chopra, Isha Ambani, Manish Malhotra, Mona Patel, Natasha Poonawalla, designer Prabal Gurung, and Sabyasachi himself.
