Television actor Abhinav Shukla has reportedly received a chilling death threat from an Instagram user claiming to be affiliated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The incident allegedly stems from a heated exchange between Shukla’s wife, actress Rubina Dilaik, and rapper Asim Riaz on the show Battleground, according to a report by news agency ANI.
Following the broadcast of the contentious episode, Shukla was targeted on social media by a user identifying himself as Ankush Gupta. The threatening message, written in Hindi, referenced the recent firing outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence and warned Shukla of a similar fate. “I’m from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. I know your address. Should I come over? Just like Salman Khan was shot at, I’ll come to your house and shoot you with an AK-47,” the message read.
Shukla took to social platform X (formerly Twitter) to share screenshots and screen recordings of the Instagram profile from which the threat originated. He noted that the user appears to be based in Chandigarh or Mohali. In his post, Shukla tagged the Punjab and Chandigarh Police, urging them to take swift and firm action. “DEATH THREATS to my family! Person seems to be from Chandigarh/Mohali. Please act firmly & promptly,” he wrote, requesting help from the public in identifying the individual.
The alarming development comes amid heightened security concerns in Bollywood, especially following recent threats made against Salman Khan. Just a week ago, the Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline received a message threatening to kill the actor and bomb his car. This was yet another addition to a series of threats Khan has received over the last two years, including a shooting incident outside his Bandra residence last year, allegedly carried out by individuals linked to the Bishnoi gang.
Authorities in Mumbai have filed a complaint against unidentified individuals and are currently investigating the origin of the latest threat. Meanwhile, the entertainment industry is calling for stronger security measures for celebrities facing such dangers, and fans have shown widespread support for Shukla and his family during this concerning time.
