Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli, who recently announced his T20I retirement after India historic T20 World Cup 2024 victory, has humorously hinted at a possible comeback. Kohli stated that if India reaches the final of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics in men’s cricket, he “might just” come out of retirement for one game to compete for a gold medal.

Cricket is set to return to the Olympics after 128 years at the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles. Kohli, speaking at the Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit, expressed his excitement about the possibility of India becoming Olympic champions.

“I don’t know, maybe if we are playing for a gold medal, that’s worth coming back for one game—win a medal, return home. To be Olympic champions would be an absolutely magnificent feeling,” Kohli said.

“My transformation started after tough tours where I saw others lasting longer on the field. The hardest part wasn’t the training but convincing my mom—she thought I was looking sick! I told her the world was talking about my training, and I was getting better,” Kohli shared.

Kohli has officially joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.

RCB shared a video on social media with Kohli posing in the team’s jersey, captioned:
