Mumbai: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma have reportedly filed for divorce after months of speculation. Social media had been rife with rumors about their separation, fueled by cryptic posts from both, but neither had publicly confirmed their split.
According to reports, the couple final hearing and legal formalities were scheduled at the Bandra Family Court on Thursday, where both were physically present. However, Dhanashree lawyer, Aditi Mohan, stated that the proceedings are still ongoing, urging the media to avoid spreading misleading information.
“The matter is sub judice. The media should fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated,” Mohan said in a statement on Friday.
Court Advised Counseling Before Mutual Consent Divorce
As per an ABP News report, the judge advised the couple to undergo counseling, which lasted 45 minutes. After the session, they reaffirmed their decision to part ways amicably, citing compatibility issues as the primary reason.
Sources further revealed that Chahal and Dhanashree had been living separately for the past 18 months before initiating legal proceedings.
Social Media Posts Hint at Separation
Before the court hearing, Chahal shared an emotional post on social media, writing:
“God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen.”
Similarly, Dhanashree also shared a message on faith and resilience, stating:

“From stressed to blessed. Isn’t it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you’re stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything.”
Although neither explicitly mentioned divorce, their posts strongly hinted at the situation.
What Next?
As of now, the divorce proceedings are still underway, with no official confirmation of the final verdict. The couple, once known for their strong social media presence together, seems to have chosen a quiet and dignified separation.
