OnePlus Nord 5, Nord CE 5, and Buds 4 to Launch in India on July 8: Flagship Power in Mid-Range Segment

OnePlus is set to revamp its mid-range smartphone portfolio with the much-anticipated launch of the OnePlus Nord 5 and OnePlus Nord CE 5. These smartphones will be officially unveiled at the OnePlus Summer Launch Event scheduled for July 8, 2025, at 2 PM IST in India. In addition to the Nord series smartphones, the brand will also launch its latest wireless earphones — the OnePlus Buds 4.

The company is hyping the upcoming launch as a major leap forward in mid-range smartphone performance, claiming that the Nord 5 series will bring “flagship-grade power” to more users. Likewise, the OnePlus Buds 4 are expected to deliver “flagship sound quality,” catering to audiophiles and gamers alike. While the full reveal is still days away, OnePlus has already teased some key features, and multiple leaks have provided deeper insights into the hardware and performance users can expect.

The OnePlus Nord 5 is confirmed to be the first Nord device powered by a Snapdragon 8-series chip, specifically the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The phone will sport a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1272 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. For gamers, OnePlus is promising up to 144Hz frame interpolation in supported titles like BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile. The device is expected to ship in 8GB and 12GB LPDDR5X RAM variants, along with 256GB or 512GB UFS storage options.

Battery capacity is another highlight. While the global model may include a 5,200mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging, the Indian variant is rumoured to feature a massive 6,600mAh battery. For photography enthusiasts, leaks suggest a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and 8MP ultrawide lens, complemented by a 50MP front camera for selfies. The phone is also expected to include IP65 water and dust resistance, and will feature OnePlus’s Cryo-Velocity VC cooling system with a 7,300mm² heat dissipation area, similar to what’s found on the flagship OnePlus 13.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 will cater to users looking for high performance at a more affordable price. The device is expected to house a 6.77-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset. It will likely be available in 8GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration. The camera system is expected to be identical to the Nord 5, with a 50MP + 8MP dual rear setup, but a smaller 16MP front camera. Interestingly, the global model may come with a 5,200mAh battery, while the Indian model could feature a massive 7,100mAh battery, both supporting 80W fast charging.

Design-wise, OnePlus has teased that the Nord 5 will come in Dry Ice, Marble Sands, and Phantom Grey colourways, while the Nord CE 5 will be available in Black Infinity and Marble Mist. The Nord CE 5’s design takes cues from the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra, featuring vertically aligned cameras and a sleek, minimalist design language.

In addition to the smartphones, OnePlus will also unveil the OnePlus Buds 4, its next-gen true wireless earbuds. The Buds 4 are expected to feature dual drivers, dual DACs, Hi-Res LHDC 5.0, 3D spatial audio, and an ultra-low 47ms latency in Game Mode, enhancing both music and gaming experiences. These will be offered in Zen Green and Storm Grey colour options.

With powerful specs, bold design choices, and aggressive pricing expected, the OnePlus Nord 5 series and Buds 4 could redefine the mid-range market in India this year. Fans won’t have to wait long — the official event is just around the corner.
